A blog entry titled “what is right with CSS” would be far longer, CSS may remain my favourite W3C specs, but on retrospect there are a number of things that haven’t worked out and should have.
CSS level 1 is mostly concerned with typography, bold and italic, fonts, type and border colour, that sort of things. Compared to what was to follow it is a tiny spec, and pretty much underspecified. The far larger level 2, intended for more formats than HTML, covered layout as well as typography, while CSS level 3 has a “there is a module for that” kind of methodology. If there
